So, project life. Or is it Project Life? I don’t know but I like it. I won’t go into details about how I made this spread, like that one time. But, I will share two observations about the process. First, working on a current week is more exciting because the memories are clearer. This leads to more accurate documentation. Second, inefficiency frustrates me and kills my motivation and creativity. I began this spread last week but hit a wall when it came time to journal because I didn’t have a system in place.
Hands down, my favorite part of this process is choosing the photos and the journal cards. I played around with the saturation on some of the photos that had too many colors to balance out the color across the whole spread.
I also like the combination of handwritten and typed journaling on photos and cards. Some of the typed text on the photos is really small this week. I chose to leave them as is because it allows me to move forward. Also, the desire for perfection has waned. Creating a standard template should help with that and it will (hopefully) be better next time.
Finding a streamlined work flow (choosing and printing photos, typing and printing text) is my goal for next week. Again, nothing extraordinary happening here besides trying to find a rhythm that works for me. With only three weeks in the bag, I can already sense that I’ll love looking back at this album at the end of the year.
